My point is, we are all a community and we should be willing to share fabulous models/projects with each other, but selfishness or just pure "haha let me show off my badass animal that I'll never share with anyone so I can feel super special and brag about it" attitudes (which I've seen a LOT with some PU people). So if one is going to cancel a project, why not release the things that were finished or are at least stable enough to work with instead of throwing everything away? I've seen dozens of projects start off well and then boom, everything is canceled and the things that were finished are just scrapped out and disregarded. Sure, the leaked versions are deemed as terrible but the contents are mostly usable. Cretaceous Calamity and Formidable Seas are perfect examples. Or lets say an expansion pack that was expected to come out for such a long time.
One can have access to previously "exclusive" downloads so they don't feel left out from the people that make these elegant PU projects to show off all the time. I think this is both a good and a bad thing. One can't have control over someone else distributing downloads without their own consent once it hits the web.
